BELGRADE - Serbia and Guinea-Bissau are brotherly countries and we will continue to build their long-standing relations, Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embalo said in Belgrade on Thursday.
At a press conference with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Embalo said two agreements signed by the governments of Serbia and Guinea-Bissau earlier in the day reflected a continuity of the traditional relations between the countries.
The two sides signed an agreement on abolishing visas for holders of official/diplomatic and special passports and a MoU on establishing a mechanism of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Serbia and Guinea-Bissau.
"We can assure you that we will do our best to ensure the agreements are implemented, and we will review our bilateral agreements every year," Embalo said.
He invited Vucic to visit Guinea-Bissau when his schedule permitted.
He also noted that Serbia and Guinea-Bissau had maintained traditionally friendly relations since the era of former Yugoslav President Tito.
"Guinea-Bissau is a brotherly country (to Serbia), and Serbia is a brotherly country to Guinea-Bissau. We will continue to build the long-standing relations," Embalo told Vucic.
