BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday no decision had been made as yet on a date of elections in Serbia and that it depended on external pressure, the oil price and the resolution of the NIS issue.

He noted that, in making a decision on the election date, he would be governed exclusively by state interests, rather than by party interests.

"No decision has been made - when they (elections) will take place depends primarily on external pressure, the oil price and the resolution of the MOL and NIS issue and of countless things and problems we are facing. We must also deliver on some things and reforms from the European agenda, we have a thousand things that we must take care of," Vucic said on Blic TV.

He added that no one, himself included, knew when the elections would be held.

"No one can tell you with certainty, because no one knows, and neither do I," he said.

Vucic said there were reasons for and reasons against holding elections.

"We must move very fast with the EXPO - if we get into electoral problems, who is going to be finishing the EXPO? But on the other hand, if we do not go to elections now, this crisis situation will drag on for six more months before elections are held. Therefore, there are reasons for and reasons against. But state reasons will always be the ones I will be governed by, and not party reasons," he said.
