BRNO - Secretary General of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dusan Kozarev officially opened a Serbian consulate in Brno, headed by Honorary Consul Miodrag Skrbic.
"Kozarev expressed particular gratitude to representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic for attending the ceremony, as well as to representatives of the Serbian diaspora, whom he described as a valuable link between Serbia and the Czech Republic," the Serbian MFA said in a statement.
"Kozarev assessed that bilateral relations between the two countries are founded on traditional friendship, accompanied by continuous and substantive political dialogue at all levels, as well as a mutual aspiration to further enhance cooperation. He emphasised that the initiative to open the Consulate of the Republic of Serbia in Brno, headed by an honorary consul, was launched precisely with the aim of further advancing the overall relations between Serbia and the Czech Republic, particularly highlighting the significant potential for strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
Kozarev also expressed special gratitude to the Czech Republic for its confirmed participation in the Specialised Exhibition Expo 2027 in Belgrade, noting that more than 130 countries have confirmed their participation so far, thereby creating an opportunity to present to the world the achievements accomplished under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.
Wishing Honorary Consul Skrbic success in carrying out his duties, Kozarev expressed confidence that, through his professional reputation, personal capacities, and extensive network of contacts, Skrbic would significantly contribute to the further development of bilateral relations, as well as to the promotion of Serbian culture and tradition, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Prague and Ambassador Berislav Vekic," it also said.
