BELGRADE - The Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned on Monday the latest drone attack on infrastructure within the perimeter of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the UAE's Al Dhafra region, as well as any act that may endanger the security of civilian and strategically important infrastructure.
"We are following the reports with grave concern and reiterate that preserving the safety and security of nuclear facilities intended for peaceful purposes is a shared responsibility of the international community and a principle established by the relevant international norms and standards," the MFA said in a statement.
"The Republic of Serbia remains firmly committed to the respect for international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and the principles concerning the inviolability of civilian infrastructure, as well as to the peaceful resolution of all disputes.
We express solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and extend our support to efforts aimed at preserving stability, preventing further escalation, and strengthening security and peace in the region and beyond," it said.
