Macut, Dacic and Vasiljevic discuss security situation in Serbia

BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic and Police Director Gen Dragan Vasiljevic met with PM Djuro Macut on Friday to discuss the current security situation in the country.

The meeting analysed the results achieved by the police in the past period, as well as key security challenges, stability of public peace and order and operational plans for fighting organised crime.

The significance of continued coordination of all security services for preserving stability and protecting the citizens was especially highlighted at the meeting.

"The leadership of the Ministry of the Interior presented a report on the measures undertaken and confirmed that the security situation in the country is stable and under control," the ministry said in a statement.

The meeting was also attended by the heads of organisational units at the headquarters of the Police Directorate.
