Djuric, Finnish MPs discuss bilateral relations, Serbia's EU path

HELSINKI- Serbian FM Marko Djuric met with members of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Grand Committee of the Finnish parliament on Tuesday to discuss advancement of bilateral relations, Serbia's EU integration and current regional and international affairs.

In the parliament building in Helsinki, a Serbian delegation headed by Djuric was welcomed by Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Johannes Koskinen, and the meeting was also attended by Serbian Ambassador to Finland Aleksandar Jankovic.

The meeting addressed advancement of Serbia-Finland bilateral relations, with special emphasis on strengthening interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

The parties also exchanged views on steps being taken by Serbia on its EU path and on possibilities for accelerating the EU integration process further.

They also discussed Serbia-EU relations, the situation in the Western Balkans, as well as current regional, foreign policy and security affairs of mutual interest.

Djuric, who is on a two-day official visit to Finland, also spoke with Finnish counterpart Eline Valtonen after the meeting.

While in Helsinki, he will also meet with Finnish President Alexander Stub.
