BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received Spanish Defence Minister Margarita Robles Fernandez in Belgrade on Friday to discuss further strengthening of Serbia-Spain cooperation in defence and security, as well as current regional and European matters of mutual interest.
"I especially thanked Spain for its consistent and principled position, based on respect for international law, the UN Charter and the territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia. Such a responsible and consistent approach represents a strong foundation of the mutual trust and friendship between our states," Vucic wrote in an Instagram post.
He added that they had also reviewed opportunities for advancement of cooperation in military technology, experience-sharing and even stronger ties between Serbian and Spanish institutions, and that they had expressed the confidence good relations were built through open dialogue, mutual respect and concrete results.
"I believe we will continue to develop close partnership relations, to the benefit of our citizens and in the interest of preserving peace, stability and security," Vucic posted.
