Vucic, Mirziyoyev discuss Serbia-Uzbekistan economic cooperation

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke by phone with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Friday about further advancement of bilateral relations and strengthening of economic cooperation focusing on boosting bilateral trade and investment.

"A good and substantial discussion with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev about further advancement of bilateral relations between our countries, strengthening of economic ties and connecting the economies in a more intensive manner," Vucic posted on Instagram.

Vucic added that they had also discussed opportunities for increasing bilateral trade and investment, as well as cooperation in industry, agriculture and modern technologies, which he noted held significant potential for joint projects.

He pointed out that they had also discussed the possibility of Mirziyoyev visiting Serbia, to which he noted Belgrade attached great importance as part of further strengthening of bilateral relations with Uzbekistan.

"I again expressed gratitude for the confirmation of Uzbekistan's participation in EXPO 2027, where it will be our pleasure to host our friends," Vucic posted.

He added that he had extended heartfelt birthday wishes to Mirziyoyev, wishing him good health, personal and family happiness and much success in his further work.
