Dacic: Spain has accepted Serbia's offer for assistance with fighting wildfires

BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said on Tuesday he expected Serbian firefighters to set off for Spain to provide assistance with fighting massive wildfires in the country.

"We have offered assistance to France and Spain, and Spain has accepted a helicopter and a ground crew, and I think they will set off for Spain today," Dacic said in an appearance on the RTS morning news programme.

He said a response from France was pending and that Serbia would help the country as much as possible.

Earlier, the Spanish Interior Ministry said a Serbian Super Puma firefighter helicopter would soon join its firefighting efforts.
