Vucic receives participants of Serbia Is Calling You 2026 youth camp

BELGRADE - At Thursday's reception for participants of a Serbia Is Calling You 2026 sports and education camp for children and youth from the diaspora, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said the 435 participants from the region, Europe and around the world proved that love for Serbia and mutual respect had no boundaries.

"From Germany, France, England, Qatar, South Africa, all the way to Montenegro and brotherly Srpska, and some of you come from our country, from the much-suffering, proud Kosovo-Metohija - you are a credit to our culture, our youth and our Fatherland," Vucic said in an address to the young athletes at the Palace of Serbia.

Noting that the annual event had again been hosted successfully in "our Belgrade", Vucic said sport and sports activities always had something in common with love, passion and mutual respect.

"Distances can separate us geographically, but under this shared sky, we all breathe the same breath. Every step you take on a sports court, every word of your mother tongue, the Serbian language, that you learn and every smile remind us of what is the most important: Serbia is your home, wherever you may live today," Vucic said.

"Dear children, treasure your names, family names and your roots. Be proud of them and know that the door of this country is always wide open to you. Wherever your path takes you, remember these days, too, because Serbia is always waiting for you, and Serbia is calling you," Vucic said.
