BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut met with Moroccan Ambassador to Belgrade Omar Amghar on Thursday to discuss strengthening and deepening of cooperation between the two countries, which will mark the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations next year.

"The Prime Minister and the Ambassador agreed that there is significant scope for enhancing cooperation, building on the excellent relations, friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries," a government statement said.

"Macut expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Morocco for its support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.

The Prime Minister pointed to the potential for cooperation in numerous areas, including the economy, trade, agriculture and tourism," it also said.

Macut extended an invitation to Morocco to take part in EXPO 2027 Belgrade as that would open up new prospects for development of bilateral relations.

Amghar said decades-long cooperation had produced many good results, which he noted was a firm foundation for advancing it further and for continuing friendship as the main characteristic of bilateral relations.
