Lajcak: Political solution urgently needed, we appreciate Vucic's readiness to contribute

BRUSSELS/BELGRADE - The EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak said on Wednesday violence was never acceptable and that a political solution to the current crisis in the north of Kosovo-Metohija was "urgently needed".

In a Twitter post, Lajcak wrote that he and US special Western Balkans envoy Gabriel Escobar had had "long discussions" with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Tuesday evening about the "complex situation of the Serbs in Kosovo."

Lajcak also said he and Escobar appreciated Vucic's readiness to contribute to a solution.
