Dacic meets with Algerian ambassador

BELGRADE - Serbian FM Ivica Dacic met with Algerian Ambassador to Belgrade Fatah Mahraz on Wednesday, and noted that Serbia highly appreciated the principled position of friendly Algeria with regards to non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo.

According to a statement released by his ministry, Dacic said the position provided principled and consistent support to the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.

The parties also discussed continued economic cooperation, which has been on an upward trajectory in recent years, the statement said.

In a cordial atmosphere, they discussed upcoming bilateral activities and a planned visit to Serbia by Algerian FM Ahmed Attaf.

Dacic said he hoped the visit would also have a positive effect on bilateral trade.

The parties also said the visit would be a good opportunity to maintain the achieved level of overall bilateral relations and to advance the relations further in all areas of mutual interest, the statement also said.
