Dacic discusses Israeli-Palestinian conflict with Arab ambassadors

BELGRADE - Serbian FM Ivica Dacic received on Monday a group of ambassadors of Arab states to Belgrade and expressed great regret and concern over the continuing Israeli-Palestinian armed conflict, which has produced an enormous death toll.

At the meeting, it was noted that there were many children among those killed and that the conflict had led the population of the Gaza Strip into a state of humanitarian disaster.

In a statement, the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the norms of international humanitarian law and the principles of humanity must be respected in times of war to avert civilian casualties and suffering.

Serbia condemns all forms of terrorism while advocating a rebuilding of the peace process, within which achievement of legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people must be guaranteed in keeping with the applicable norms of international law and the relevant UN resolutions, the statement said.
