Vucic: Brnabic candidate for parliament speaker, Sapic for Belgrade mayor

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who is also a Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Presidency member, announced on Wednesday evening the party had decided to put Ana Brnabic forward as the new parliament speaker and Aleksandar Sapic as Belgrade mayor.

"Since I have been president, she (Brnabic) has been PM but she will now be in the second most important post in Serbia. She is the most positive surprise in politics. She is the most- and fastest-improved figure," Vucic told reporters after an SNS Presidency session in Belgrade.

"I do not know how I will get used to that, she will have a lot to show, and she, too, is happy and pleased with the new challenge," he said, noting that Brnabic deserved to be in one of the most significant political posts in the country.

"If she does well in the parliament, Ana can be president, too - she has never been president before, you never know," Vucic said.
