Fico: Western strategy in Ukraine not working, should be changed

BRATISLAVA - Slovak PM Robert Fico said on Thursday the Western strategy in Ukraine was not working and should be changed.

"I see that we will deepen that strategy further. Even more arms, as well as modern systems, are going to Ukraine. People are starting to talk of participation of EU and NATO troops in some form, for example, in troop training directly in Ukrainian territory," Fico told Tanjug in an interview.

"There is no military solution here. That is why Slovakia is one of the countries that will be helping Ukraine only in humanitarian and civilian ways. We are also ready to assist demining," he said.
