BELGRADE - Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) leader Ivica Dacic said on Monday new local elections in Belgrade could be called in a day or two and that parties that had gathered around the SPS and the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) for the previous polls in the capital could run together with the Serbian Oathkeepers Party.
"If everything goes as agreed, we will be running together in the Belgrade elections," Dacic told Pink TV.
He noted that, regardless of the election date, the opposition would lose.
"You know why? Because an empty sack cannot stand upright. That means you must have a policy, and we have taken that very seriously," he explained.
Dacic also said the Socialists' participation in the new Serbian government was "unquestionable."
In a response to a Tanjug query, the Serbian Oathkeepers
Party leadership confirmed it had discussed a coalition model with the SNS and SPS and that it found a model presented by Dacic to be "quite suitable."
