BELGRADE - Commenting on the latest beating of a Kosovo-Metohija Serb by Pristina's police, the head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said on Monday beatings and arrests of Serbs were evidently "values" that were a "recommendation" for the so-called Kosovo's Council of Europe (CoE) admission.
"After arresting Srecko Sofronijevic - probably to punish him for not having succumbed to his wounds when they shot him, (Pristina PM Albin) Kurti's phalangists have brutally beaten up Vladan Stevanovic without any reason. Beatings and arrests of Serbs are evidently values that are a recommendation for the so-called Kosovo for the Council of Europe!" Petkovic wrote in a post on the social media network X.
On Saturday, Pristina's special police beat up Serb Vladan Stevanovic, a resident of the Bube village near Zubin Potok, northern Kosovo-Metohija.
He sustained injuries to his head and body and had to receive 15 stitches as a result.
In a statement, Stevanovic said he was fearing for the safety of his family following the incident.
