GAZIMESTAN - A Kosovo-Metohija Serb from Babin Most who was arrested by the so-called Kosovo Police in the Gazimestan memorial complex near Pristina on Friday has been released after questioning, his attorney has confirmed to Tanjug.
"After giving a statement, my client was released and is already at home in Babin Most. As the police told me, he was arrested for allegedly spreading hate speech. I believe he will not be under criminal prosecution," the attorney said.
Gazimestan is the site of the 1389 Battle of Kosovo.
The young man, identified with the initials N M, was taken out of a group of people who attended a memorial service for Serbian warriors who fell in the battle, and driven away in a police vehicle for questioning.
He was arrested for allegedly holding a flag with the "No Surrender" slogan, a Tanjug correspondent reported.
Earlier, the so-called Kosovo Police searched everyone who wanted to enter the complex and did not allow them to bring in Serbian flags or shirts with Serbian symbols.
