Brnabic: Good discussions in Germany

BERLIN - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic, who is on an official trip to Germany, said on Wednesday she had had a large number of meetings during the visit and that Germany was interested in the Serbian economy.

Speaking to reporters in Berlin, Brnabic said German officials had praised Serbia and its economic growth and development, noting that what could be seen in Serbia was "impressive."

She said bilateral goods trade with Germany had reached a record high in 2023, exceeding 9 bln euros, and that she expected the figure to rise further this year.

She also said it was important for the current Serbian parliament to have better communication with all members of the German Bundestag.

"We have many outstanding issues and many disagreements, but it is important to talk," Brnabic said.

She also said Serbia should learn from Germany's example and come to a state where there were no political divisions over matters of national interest such as lithium mining and where all political parties supported national interests.
