Turkulov: Patient injured in Novi Sad railway station tragedy in stable condition

NOVI SAD - Vojvodina Clinical Centre Director Vesna Turkulov said on Monday a female patient injured in the November 1, 2024 deadly overhang collapse at the Novi Sad railway station was in stable condition and on the right track to rehabilitation.

"Teodora's condition after a six-month battle is certainly stable. We have said it is a long-term battle considering the severity of her injuries, but she is a great fighter," Turkulov told Tanjug.

She said the patient had been receiving hyperbaric chamber treatments for the past two months to help her wounds heal and prepare her for a prosthesis and rehabilitation.

"We hope we are getting closer and closer to the moment when she will be out of the Clinical Centre and start going to a rehabilitation centre or to outpatient clinic rehabilitation. We are on the right track," Turkulov said.

She also said the patient was long out of intensive care and undergoing regular medical examinations, with her condition monitored daily.

The patient is the sole survivor of the tragic accident, which left 16 people dead.
