BELGRADE - Former FM and one-time ambassador to the UN Vladislav Jovanovic died on Saturday at the age of 92, his family has announced.

Born in Zitni Potok, southern Serbia, in 1933, Jovanovic graduated from a grammar school in Belgrade in 1951 and went on to obtain a degree from the Belgrade Faculty of Law.

He began his diplomatic career at the MFA of the former Yugoslavia in 1957.

He served two terms as FM, as well as ambassador of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia to the UN and as ambassador to Turkey (1985-1989), and also served in Brussels and London.
