Former longtime Tanjug journalist and editor Nebojsa Radosevic dies aged 60

BELGRADE - Former longtime Tanjug News Agency journalist and editor Nebojsa Radosevic died on Tuesday in Belgrade at the age of 60 after a serious illness.

During his rich career, he worked at numerous media organisations, including Tanjug, which he joined in 2000, remaining at the agency for nearly two decades.

As a journalist and editor of the political affairs news desk, Radosevic reported from all major events.

Born in Pristina in 1966, he also reported during the Kosovo-Metohija conflict.

On October 18, 1998, while on reporting duty in Pristina, Radosevic and photojournalist Vladimir Dobricic were kidnapped by the so-called "Kosovo Liberation Army" ("KLA") in the vicinity of the Slatina airport.

They spent 41 days in captivity and survived interrogations, physical abuse and false trials.

They were released in late November 1998, chiefly thanks to pressure from international officials and solidarity among fellow journalists.

As a key witness of the Hague-based Kosovo Specialist Chambers, in October 2023, Radosevic testified in the war crimes trial of Hasim Taci and other "KLA" leaders.

In his testimony, he gave a detailed account of the torture he had been subjected to.

As an experienced and dependable reporter and chronicler, Radosevic worked at Studio B in the final five years of his life.
