BELGRADE - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis singles, could play at the US Open following the latest decisions by US authorities.

The Biden administration has announced it would on May 11 lift the COVID-19 emergency introduced in 2020.

That would also mean the lifting of the mandatory COVID vaccination requirement for all those wishing to enter the US.

If the May 11 date is confirmed, Djokovic will be able to play at the last Grand Slam tournament of the season.

Djokovic won his tenth career Australian Open title on Sunday by defeating Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas 3-0 in the final.
