BELGRADE - The Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS) announced Dusan Alimpijevic had been named new head coach of the Serbia men's national basketball team, succeeding Svetislav Pesic, whose contract expired on Tuesday.
"The Basketball Federation of Serbia is very pleased to inform the public that an agreement has been reached with Mr Dusan Alimpijevic, who, pursuant to a decision by the KSS Board of Directors, was today officially named head coach of the Serbia men's senior national team. The contract will be signed for a period of three years. In that period, Alimpijevic will undertake all competences regarding the national team's preparations for the upcoming World Championship qualifications (FIBA 'windows') as well as international competitions," an official statement said.
Alimpijevic, 39, has been at the helm of Turkey's Besiktas since 2023 and has previously coached Bursa, Avtodor, Red Star Belgrade, FMP Belgrade, Spartak Subotica and Vojvodina Novi Sad.
