BELGRADE - The head coach of the Serbia men's national basketball team Svetislav Pesic said on Monday evening a EuroBasket 2025 berth was the priority but that the upcoming qualifying games against Finland and Georgia would also help him pick a team for the Paris Olympic Games.
"This is our first meeting after the World Cup in Manila and probably our last before the Olympic Games. The priorities are the most important, we know why we have got together - because of EuroBasket 2025 but, of course, due to the inability to have quality preparations for the Olympic Games, there is an opportunity to see what we can get for the Olympic Games from this gathering and these two games," Pesic told reporters in Belgrade.
He noted that Finland and Georgia were two different teams, with different styles of play.
In qualifying group G, Serbia face Finland at home on Friday and Georgia in Tbilisi on Monday.
The group also includes Denmark.
