BELGRADE - The motorway running through the Grdelica Gorge, southeastern Serbia, is the most difficult section of the southern leg of Corridor 10, one of the most significant pan-European transport corridors running through Serbia, President Aleksandar Vucic posted on his Instagram profile ahead of this weekend's opening of the motorway.

"We should be proud, we have been waiting for this for decades. Motorways connect us and bring new jobs, higher wages and more tourists," he wrote on the profile, named buduchnostsrbijeav.

Corridor 10, whose construction began in 1970, runs through Serbia, connecting Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Greece.

"The 26.3 km motorway route through the Grdelica Gorge is the most difficult section of the southern leg of Corridor 10. The expected value of the investment is 350 mln euros," Vucic wrote.
