BELGRADE - Within the framework of French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Serbia, the Euronews television network, Europe's leading international news channel, and HD-WIN, a Serbian media group, will announce a partnership project of launching Euronews Serbia, a news channel and a digital platform for audiences in Serbian-speaking territories, Telekom Srbija said Monday.

Euronews aims to promote reliable and independent media in Serbia and potentially in other Serbian-speaking territories, an official statement said.

The launch of Euronews Serbia is a part of Euronews' strategic ambition to position itself as the world's first global-local media company.

It is a second franchise to be started by Euronews, which is also considering the possibility of launching other similar projects.

Under a contract signed by the two groups, HD-WIN - owned by Telekom Srbija, Serbia's national telecoms operator - will benefit from Euronews' brand recognition and reputation, the statement said.
