BELGRADE - The Belgrade airport handled 7.4 pct more passengers in Q2 2019 compared to the same period of last year, Vinci Airports, which holds a concession for the Nikola Tesla Airport, announced Wednesday.

The number of passengers across the Vinci network rose by 7.3 pct in Q2 2019 compared to the same period in 2018, with a total 66.2 mln passengers handled at 46 airports in the network, the company said in a statement.

In the first half of 2019, traffic rose by 6.7 pct, it said.

Vinci Airports' cooperation with airline companies since its arrival in Belgrade in late 2018 has led to a return of Air France, which has relaunched a Paris-Belgrade service after six years, it said.

Also, Wizz Air has introduced flights between the Serbian capital and the Lyon-Saint-Exupery Airport, which is also operated by Vinci Airports, the company said.
