BELGRADE - The Serbian Commission for Protection of Competition has approved an acquisition of the Bosnia and Herzegovina company Financ doo by Banja Luka-based Mtel, in which the Serbian telecoms operator Telekom Srbija has a 65 pct stake.

Financ engages in mediation in sales and distribution of Telekom Group services in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in sales and distribution of electronic pre-paid top-ups, as well as in providing access to Internet and digital IPTV services.

Mtel is one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's three national telecoms operators.

In 2018, Telekom Group had a total consolidated revenue of 1,059 mln euros, including 724 mln euros generated in Serbia.

Mtel posted a total revenue of 223 mln euros last year, and had no operations in Serbia.

Financ has no subsidiaries or activities in Serbia, the Commission said in a decision.

The Commission established that Financ has no presence in the relevant market in Serbia and that the acquisition will have no impact on the Serbian market.
