SABAC/LOZNICA - A 54.5 km expressway from Sabac to Loznica, which connects Serbia's western Macva and Podrinje regions, was opened to traffic on Monday morning.
From now on, Sabac and Loznica will be a half an hour's drive away from each other, with journeys between Belgrade and Loznica to take just an hour and 15 minutes.
The Sabac-Loznica expressway section is an extension of a Ruma-Sabac motorway, which was opened to traffic last year along with a new bridge on the Sava River.
At a Lesnica ceremony on Sunday, Serbian PM Milos Vucevic said the new route was the shortest traffic link to Podrinje, as well as to Republika Srpska, from Belgrade and Novi Sad, respectively.
