BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Aleksandra Sofronijevic met with German Ambassador to Serbia Anke Konrad on Monday to discuss bilateral cooperation.
The parties agreed that Serbia-Germany relations were on a high level but that there was still room to enhance them further.
Sofronijevic said Germany had been Serbia's single biggest provider of development aid in recent years, as well as one of its most significant trading partners and its largest donor, and that German companies employed a large number of Serbians, an official statement said.
She added that Serbia had very good cooperation with Germany's development agency GIZ and the KfW development bank.
Konrad noted that 2025 marked 25 years of German-Serbian development cooperation and that the cooperation had resulted in implementation of numerous projects across Serbia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Construction as one of the most significant partners.
Sofronijevic and Konrad also addressed specific issues related to the operations of German companies in Serbia, as well as the ministry's future legislative activities towards further advancement of the legal framework in the construction, transport and infrastructure sector.
