BELGRADE - Serbian First Deputy PM and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali said on Monday Serbia was interested in a concession for Montenegro's international passenger airports in Podgorica and Tivat.
Mali said this in a comment on an announced concession for the two airports, the Finance Ministry said in a statement.
"Even though President Aleksandar Vucic and I have declared our intent to the current Montenegrin leadership clearly on several occasions, we have not felt that the sentiment is that we should be involved in this process. Also, we have noted that we stand ready to invest even twice as much as what is envisioned in the present proposal of a concession agreement," Mali said.
He added that he was convinced Serbia was able to contribute to better and accelerated development of Montenegro's airports and noted that, having managed to bolster the relevance, reputation, professionalism and capacity of Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport through its concession operator, it now had great experience in the sector.
