BELGRADE - Official talks between Serbian representatives and an International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission began with a plenary meeting at the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) on Wednesday.
The Serbian delegation was headed by NBS Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic, who is also Serbia’s Governor to the IMF.
The meeting was also attended by First Deputy PM and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali and his aides, as well as a representative of the Ministry of Economy.
The IMF mission, led by Ms Annette Kyobe, will be in Belgrade until October 30.
"The talks are part of the second review of the economic programme supported by the Policy Coordination Instrument. The discussions will focus on the latest macroeconomic developments, economic outlook and risks, as well as key issues regarding the programme’s implementation and progress on reforms," the NBS said in a statement.
"The first review of the implementation of the agreed economic programme was successfully concluded in June 2025 by the decision of the IMF’s Executive Board.
Mr Patryk Loszewski, the IMF Executive Director, who represents the Swiss Constituency within the IMF Executive Board, of which Serbia is a member, will also join the IMF mission in Belgrade.
The current advisory, non-financing Policy Coordination Instrument was approved to the Republic of Serbia on December 9 2024 for a 36-month period. It is approved to countries that are implementing credible economic policies. Performance under the programme is monitored within regular semi-annual reviews," the central bank also said.
