Serbia's January external trade at 4.89 bln euros

BELGRADE - Serbia's January external goods trade totalled 4.89 bln euros, which is a 11.0 pct decline y-o-y, according to figures released by the national statistical office.

Goods exports were worth 2.36 bln euros, dropping by 5.7 pct y-o-y, while imports totalled 2.53 bln euros, declining by 15.4 pct y-o-y.

The deficit was 170.1 mln euros, down by 65.2 pct y-o-y.

The export-import ratio was 93.2 pct, up from 83.7 pct in January 2025.

The Vojvodina region accounted for the largest share of exports (28.6 pct) and the Belgrade region had the largest share of imports (44.0 pct).

External goods trade was the highest with countries with which Serbia has free trade agreements and EU member states accounted for 59.1 pct of the total.

Serbia's top export partners were Germany, Italy, China, Czechia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and its main import partners were China, Germany, Italy, Hungary and Turkey.
