Djedovic Handanovic meets with Azerbaijan's finance minister

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic met with Azerbaijani Finance Minister Sahil Babayev on Wednesday to discuss overall bilateral cooperation, and announced the start of a series of high-level official visits for next month.

"I met with Azerbaijan's Finance Minister Sahil Babayev, with whom I discussed our overall cooperation, since energy accounts for the bulk of our bilateral trade," Djedovic Handanovic posted on Instagram.

She noted that the supply of Azerbaijani natural gas had doubled since the start of cooperation three years ago and that talks about further energy supplies and joint infrastructure projects continued.

"Next month will also see the launch of direct flights between Belgrade and Baku, as well as the start of a series of high-level visits," Djedovic Handanovic posted, adding that the discussion with Babayev had deepened a dialogue that was "an important step towards strengthening Serbia's energy security and advancing the strategic partnership between our countries."
