BELGRADE - The Fiat plant in Kragujevac, central Serbia, will start producing a new generation of electric vehicles in 2024, the Stellantis Group announced on Wednesday.
The plant's workers have already completed the training for the manufacturing process and the new Fiat Panda Hybrid is expected to cost around 15,000 euros, while the electric version of the model, which will have a range of 200 km, will come with a 20,000 euro price tag.
The new generation of the popular Panda, named Pandlina, will move up a segment and become an electrically powered B-segment crossover, the RTS reported.
It will be sold on all continents and manufactured in Serbia, Brazil and Morocco.
The Stellantis factory in Kragujevac - which produced the Fiat 500L model until last year - will be the first plant manufacturing mass-produced electric cars in the Balkans, Stellantis boss Carlos Tavares announced.
