Two arrested in Pristina's police raid on Gracanica municipal building

GRACANICA - The so-called Kosovo Police on Thursday raided the building of the Gracanica municipality, which operates within the system of the provisional Pristina institutions, and arrested two people on suspicion of office abuse and corruption.

The entrance to the building was not blocked during the raid and armed police troops could be seen outside.

The raid was overseen by Kfor and Eulex troops.

Gracanica Mayor Ljiljana Subaric said the two were employees of the municipal cadastre department but noted that the arrest and an investigation that was underway would have no impact on the work of the municipal leadership or the department itself.

"This is about work done by certain employees at their own initiative," Subaric said.

"We would not speculate on further proceedings, and you will be informed when we obtain detailed information," Subaric told reporters.
