BELGRADE - Two more countries - the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu - have officially confirmed their participation at the specialised EXPO 2027, to be held in Belgrade under the theme of Play for Humanity - Sports and Music for All, the EXPO 2027 Belgrade enterprise said on Thursday.
The two South Pacific island nations have been regular participants of EXPOs since 1985 and became members of the Bureau International des Expositions in 2007.
At EXPO 2008 in Saragosa, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu won gold medals for the design of their presentations.
"We are certain that our friends from Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands will prepare a unique cultural programme that will bring to life the specific spirit of the remote Pacific at the heart of Europe," EXPO 2027 Belgrade Director Dusan Borovcanin noted.
EXPO 2027, to be held from May 15 through August 15, 2027, will feature more than 120 countries.
The 93-day event is expected to draw more than four million visitors.
