BANJALUKA - The head of the provincial government of Serbia's Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Maja Gojkovic, met with Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik in Banjaluka on Friday to discuss the current social situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina following a local court's first-instance ruling in a trial of Dodik.
Gojkovic, who is on a two-day working trip to Republika Srpska, visited Dodik together with Republika Srpska PM Radovan Viskovic, the Vojvodina provincial government said in a statement.
Gojkovic's meeting with Dodik follows in the wake of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's visit to Banjaluka immediately after the ruling, under which Dodik is sentenced to one year in prison and a six-year ban on engaging in political activities for what the court said was disrespect of decisions by High Representative Christian Schmidt.
Vucic said at the time Serbia's attitude towards Srpska was unchanged and that Serbia would stand with the president of Republika Srpska and institutions in Banjlaluka while strongly supporting rule of law and dialogue and cooperation among all nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
