BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksnadar Vucic met with the EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Peter Sorensen in Belgrade on Tuesday to inform him of the problems faced by Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija.
"An open and fair first meeting with Mr Sorensen, whom I informed of the problems faced by our people in Kosovo-Metohija. I voiced special concern over the difficult position of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija due to numerous escalatory, unilateral and violent moves by Pristina," Vucic wrote in an Instagram post.
Vucic added that he had also pointed out Pristina's constant obstructions in the dialogue process and reiterated that establishment of a Community of Serb Municipalities, after 12 years of Pristina's refusal to meet that commitment, was a precondition for a start to a substantial process of normalisation of relations.
Vucic noted that he expected the EU to step up its engagement and maintain an unbiased role in the process.
"I reiterated Serbia's position that only constructive dialogue and compromise solutions can contribute to long-term peace and stability in the Western Balkans," Vucic wrote in the post.
