BELGRADE - The Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) Presidency has voted unanimously in favour of the party staying in a coalition with the ruling Progressive Party of Serbia (SNS) and Aleksandar Vucic, and said it would act accordingly in discussions on a new Serbian government.
"We believe that is in the best interest of Serbia and its citizens, as well as Serbs as a whole," the SPS said in a statement after its Presidency met on Thursday, and added that the Presidency had also unanimously expressed full support to the policy and the work of party leader Ivica Dacic.
The SPS Presidency said it agreed it was in Serbia's interest to preserve peace and stability, as well as to solve all problems through dialogue within institutions, rejecting any forms of violence and attempts to take power in the streets without elections, by forming either a so-called transitional or an expert government.
