BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received the credentials of five new ambassadors on Thursday.

At the Palace of Serbia, Vucic received the credentials of Ambassador Kim Hyung Tae of South Korea, Ambassador Peter Truswell of Australia, Ambassador Slobodan Sesum of Slovenia, Ambassador Nebojsa Djokovic of Montenegro and Ambassador Frederik Develter of Belgium.

In an Instagram post he made after receiving Kim, Vucic wished the South Korean ambassador a cordial welcome and noted that he believed that, through his engagement, Kim would contribute to "further strengthening of friendly Serbia-Korea relations, marked in the past years by more intensive political dialogue and increasingly dynamic economic cooperation."

"We are grateful to the Republic of Korea for the development aid and the numerous donations to date, and we especially appreciate their support in the field of eGovernment. We are hoping for an arrival of new Korean investments, an expansion of the economic exchange and even stronger ties between our peoples," Vucic wrote in the post.

"I welcomed the newly-appointed ambassador of Australia with the wish that he may have a fruitful term and a pleasant stay in Serbia," Vucic wrote in a separate post after receiving Truswell's credentials.

He noted that this year marked 60 years of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Australia.

"That is an anniversary that reminds us of the long-standing friendship and mutual respect," Vucic added, expressing the hope Truswell's work would contribute to further strengthening of political dialogue, economic cooperation and increasingly rich person-to-person contacts, with a special contribution from the Serbian diaspora in Australia, which he noted was an important bridge between the two nations.

Wishing Sesum a successful tenure in Serbia, Vucic said Slovenia was an important political and economic partner of Serbia.

"I believe that, through joint efforts, we will advance further the relations between our countries. We are especially glad our bilateral relations are developing through intensive economic cooperation and increasingly open political dialogue," Vucic also posted on Instagram.

At the meeting with Djokovic, Vucic noted that good bilateral relations with Montenegro were crucial for stability and the future of the entire region.

"I am confident that, through joint efforts, we will advance further the relations between our states, based on the close ties between the peoples of Serbia and Montenegro," Vucic posted, noting that Serbia was open to sincere dialogue on all important matters.

"We stand ready to deepen cooperation in the economy, infrastructure, energy and European integration," he wrote.

He added that, in a sincere and well-argumented manner, Serbia would continue to highlight the position of Serbs in Montenegro and advocate their rights, identity and cultural heritage.

After receiving Develter's credentials, Vucic posted that, for years, Serbia and Belgium had maintained good political dialogue and growing economic cooperation.

He noted that 2025 marked the 140th anniversary of Serbia-Belgium diplomatic ties.

Vucic added that he was glad to see interest in cooperation in the nuclear energy sector following his attendance at the global Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels.

"We are pleased with the presence of Belgian companies in our market and convinced that there is additional space for new investments, especially in energy, the metal processing industry, the IT sector and environmental protection," Vucic posted.
