Subotica court places former "Kosovo Police" member in custody

SUBOTICA - The Higher Court in Subotica has placed a former "Kosovo Police" member suspected in the Banjska murder case in custody for up to 30 days.

Arbnor Spahiu is suspected of the criminal offence of aggravated murder under Article 114, Paragraph 1, Item 11 of the Criminal Code - specifically, premeditated murder of several persons in the September 2023 incident in Banjska, northern Kosovo-Metohija, a source in the court told Tanjug on Tuesday.

The court decision may be appealed.

Spahiu was arrested at the Horgos border crossing on June 7, during a trip from Austria to the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija.

Following the arrest, he was taken to a detention centre in Kanjiza.
