Macut, Mexican ambassador discuss opportunities to boost cooperation

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut received Mexican Ambassador to Belgrade Carlos Isauro Felix Corona on Friday to discuss current affairs in bilateral cooperation and opportunities to boost it further.

Macut expressed the hope the cooperation between Serbia and Mexico would continue to develop in the spirit of mutual trust, partnership and common prosperity, the Serbian government said in a statement.

He noted that special attention needed to be devoted to enhancing economic cooperation and exchange in telecommunications, education, culture and tourism.

Macut thanked Mexico for its principled position of supporting Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The ambassador expressed interest in further ties between businesses and in experience-sharing in innovation and sustainable development, and said there was significant room to deepen the relationship in the spirit of mutual respect and partnership.

The parties also agreed that bilateral trade and investments could be boosted, especially in the agricultural, technological and energy sectors, the statement said.

They agreed that cultural cooperation contributed further to strengthening the ties between the two peoples and to creating foundations for substantial long-term cooperation.

They devoted special attention to EXPO 2027 Belgrade, which will be a platform for showcasing the cultural and economic potentials of both countries and all other participant countries.
