Vucic: At Xi's personal invitation, I will pay official visit to China within six months

BEIJING - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday in Beijing his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping had been exceptionally friendly and cordial and that, at Xi's personal invitation, he would pay an official visit to China within six months.

"The meeting with President Xi was exceptionally friendly and cordial and I would say it is good news for the Serbian citizens that not only confirms our friendship, but shows what will come later. Personally, and not through his office or in the usual bureaucratic way, President Xi invited me as president and our delegation during the conversation to pay a state visit to the People's Republic of China, so within a short period of time - six months, I assume - we will pay an official state visit to the People's Republic of China," Vucic told reporters after meeting with Xi.

He said China had prepared a major five-year plan set to be launched in March next year.

"We, too, are preparing our own plans until 2035 and coordinating that," Vucic said.

"President Xi was so kind as to say we can coordinate that mutually, and I thank him for that," he noted.
