BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut received a farewell visit from Indian Ambassador to Belgrade Shubhdarshini Tripathi on Wednesday, and thanked her for her personal contribution to strengthening of friendly relations and the partnership between the two countries.
In a discussion with the outgoing ambassador, Macut noted that significant progress had been made in trade, agriculture, the IT sector and cultural cooperation between Serbia and India.
He noted that Serbia remained committed to further advancement of bilateral relations, with special emphasis on innovation, education and new technologies, and that the Serbian market was open to Indian investors.
Macut also thanked the ambassador for India's consistent stance of non-recognition of the so-called Kosovo and for its support for safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.
The PM wished the ambassador good health and noted that Serbia would always remain open to Indian friends.
Tripathi said the level of cooperation with Serbian institutions had been exceptional during her tenure in Belgrade and that she believed development of good relations between the two countries would also be continued in the future on well-laid foundations of mutual respect and traditional friendship.
