NEW YORK - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic arrived in New York on Monday evening on a visit to the US, during which he will attend the 80th UN General Assembly session and hold bilateral meetings with many world leaders and representatives of the international community.
Vucic will meet with US State Secretary Marco Rubio on Tuesday, as also announced by the US State Department in an official statement.
Before the trip to New York, Vucic said Rubio had requested to meet with him, and that he believed it was possible to resolve the issue of US tariffs.
He announced he would also meet with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to discuss US sanctions on Serbia's Russian majority-owned oil company NIS.
Vucic said he would also speak with European Council President Antonio Costa as well as with 22 presidents and PMs of various countries, including several African states.
He added that good news about derecognitions of the so-called Kosovo could be expected soon.
Vucic will address the UNGA session on Wednesday.
