BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric said on Tuesday in New York Pristina must form a Community of Serb Municipalities, "its binding pledge to the EU and its own citizens."

Addressing a UN Security Council session on the latest semi-annual report on the work of UNMIK, the UN mission in Kosovo-Metohija, Djuric said Pristina's caretaker PM Albin Kurti was sabotaging dialogue and undermining the "peace legacy" of US President Donald Trump.

"Today I issue a resounding call: after 12 years, Pristina must form the community of Serb-majority municipalities. This is not Serbia's whim it is Pristina's binding pledge to the EU and its own citizens, a cornerstone for Serb rights and security. Kurti sabotages dialogue, unravelling the Brussels Agreement and the Washington accord," Djuric said.

"He undermines President Trump's peace legacy, stoking Balkan tensions anew. This reckless behaviour is compounded by the ongoing militarisation of Kosovo, which risks escalating tensions further. Delivering of lethal drone systems and other offensive capabilities to the so-called Kosovo Security Force deepens mistrust, undermines regional confidence and contradicts the spirit of restraint that this Council has long advocated," he said.

"Despite all, Serbia champions stability, partnership over provocation, dialogue over discord," he noted.

"UNMIK's role is indispensable, its mandate untouchable. Reducing it would embolden force over law. Serbia demands UNMIK's full, undiminished presence to shield against those who scorn human rights. We insist on open Security Council sessions on UNMIK. Transparency ensures truth that prevails, and not hidden agendas," he said.

"Serbia is no obstacle - we are the solution, a stable, law-abiding ally. Peace is not unilateral - it crumbles if victims are silenced, children terrorised and peoples erased," he noted.
