RIYADH - Serbian FM Marko Djuric met on Tuesday in Riyadh with EXPO 2030 Riyadh CEO Talal Al-Marri to discuss preparations for hosting the EXPO.
In a statement to Serbian media after the meeting, Djuric said they had discussed opportunities for partnerships aimed at making EXPOs in both Belgrade and Riyadh as successful as possible.
Djuric said Serbia was undoubtedly one of the most attractive investment destinations - even beyond the Balkans - due to its central location and its abundance of talent, as well as a broad regulatory framework enabling the creation of science and technology ecosystems that were perhaps not present in other European countries.
"For that reason, we can boast the fact that, today, Serbia is a country whose economy is structured so that new technologies are already surpassing agriculture in terms of the GDP share but, at the same time, a country that has modern data centres, such as the one in Kragujevac, which is a state data centre, but one that is used by some of the largest companies. It is not without reason that some of the largest companies, such as Microsoft, Oracle and even automotive companies such as Rivian, are developing their products in Serbia, because, in our country, there is both talent and a regulatory framework that make something like that possible," Djuric said.
